1. Sponsor and Beneficiary
The Laura’s Wish $20,000 Hope Raffle (“Raffle”) is sponsored and administered by Laura’s Wish Foundation, a nonprofit organization. All net proceeds from the Raffle benefit Laura’s Wish Foundation and its mission to provide final wish experiences—often family vacations or special trips—for individuals facing terminal illness so they can step away from medical appointments and spend meaningful time with loved ones. The decisions of Sponsor regarding the Raffle and these Official Rules are final and binding in all respects.
2. Eligibility
2.1 The Raffle is open only to natural persons who, at the time of ticket purchase:
(a) are at least twenty-one (21) years of age; and
(b) are legal residents of the United States, in a jurisdiction where participation in the Raffle is not prohibited by law.
2.2 The Raffle is void where prohibited or restricted by law. It is the responsibility of each ticket purchaser to ensure that they are eligible to participate under the laws of their jurisdiction.
3. Raffle Period; Drawing Date and Location
3.1 Raffle ticket sales will begin on or about [Start Date] and will continue until the earlier of:
(a) the sale of nine hundred (900) tickets; or
(b) such other date as Sponsor may determine in its sole discretion, subject to applicable law.
3.2 The winning ticket will be drawn at a fundraising dinner event in Richmond, Virginia in May 2026 (exact date, time, and location to be announced) (the “Drawing”).
3.3 Ticket holders are not required to be present at the Drawing to win.
4. Tickets; Contribution; Limit
4.1 The contribution for each Raffle ticket is seventy-five dollars (US $75.00) (“Ticket Price”). Each ticket purchased constitutes one (1) entry into the Raffle.
4.2 A maximum of nine hundred (900) tickets will be made available for sale. Sponsor reserves the right to sell fewer than 900 tickets.
4.3 Tickets may be purchased only through methods authorized by Sponsor (including online purchase via Zeffy or another designated platform) and only during the Raffle Period. Tickets are not valid unless issued by or through Sponsor or its authorized agents.
4.4 All ticket sales are final and non‑refundable, except as required by law or as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
5. Prize
5.1 One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded: a cash prize of twenty thousand dollars (US $20,000.00) (the “Prize”).
5.2 The Prize will be paid by check made payable to the Grand Prize winner. No substitution, assignment, or transfer of the Prize is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the Prize becomes unavailable for any reason.
5.3 The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible tickets sold. If all 900 tickets are sold, the odds of winning are 1 in 900 per ticket.
6. Selection of Winner
6.1 One (1) winning ticket will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible tickets sold. The drawing will be conducted by Sponsor or its designee in a fair and impartial manner, in accordance with applicable law.
6.2 The holder of the winning ticket (the “Winner”) will be deemed the potential winner, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.
6.3 The winning ticket number will be announced at the Drawing and may be posted on Sponsor’s website and/or social media channels. Sponsor will also attempt to contact the potential Winner using the contact information provided at the time of ticket purchase (e.g., phone, email, and/or mailing address).
7. Winner Notification and Verification
7.1 The potential Winner will be required to complete, sign, and return any documents reasonably requested by Sponsor, which may include:
(a) an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (where permitted by law); and
(b) any tax forms required by federal, state, or local law (e.g., IRS Form W‑9).
7.2 If the potential Winner cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts within [for example, thirty (30)] days of the Drawing, fails to respond within the time specified by Sponsor, is found to be ineligible, or fails to timely return required documentation, the Prize may be forfeited and Sponsor may, in its sole discretion and subject to applicable law, select an alternate winner by random drawing from the remaining eligible tickets.
7.3 Sponsor is not responsible for any lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or otherwise undeliverable communications, including due to incorrect contact information or technical issues.
8. Taxes and Other Obligations
8.1 The Winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, fees, and other costs associated with acceptance and receipt of the Prize. Sponsor may be required to withhold a portion of the Prize for tax purposes in accordance with applicable law.
8.2 Sponsor will issue any tax forms or reports required by law (including IRS Form W‑2G, if applicable). Ticket purchasers are advised to consult their own tax advisors regarding the tax consequences of participating in the Raffle.
8.3 Because a raffle ticket provides a chance to win a prize, the purchase of a ticket may not be fully tax‑deductible. Purchasers should consult their tax advisors for guidance.
9. Use of Proceeds; Mission
Net proceeds from the Raffle will be used to support Laura’s Wish Foundation’s mission to provide final wish experiences for individuals facing terminal illness, including family vacations and special trips that allow families to step away from medical appointments and spend meaningful time together, as well as related program and administrative costs.
